On Friday, November 13, the Texas Sports Hall of Fame will honor Coach Slocum with the Lamar Hunt Lifetime Achievement Award, the Hall’s highest honor, during a special evening at the Ford Hall of Champions at Kyle Field.
For those who have worn the Maroon and White, coached on the sidelines, worked behind the scenes or helped build the tradition of Aggie Athletics, this evening is an opportunity to come together and celebrate a man who has been part of that tradition for more than five decades.
Coach Slocum’s 53-year legacy at Texas A&M reaches well beyond his record on the field. His impact is evident in the players he coached, the teams he built, the relationships he formed and the generations of Aggies who continue to carry those lessons forward.
The evening will feature stories and tributes from Ray Childress, Dante Hall, Greg Hill, Dat Nguyen and Bucky Richardson, along with special guests, photo opportunities and an exclusive VIP reception.
The program begins at 7:15 p.m.
A portion of the evening’s proceeds will benefit the 12th Man Foundation, helping support Texas A&M student-athletes and the continued tradition of Aggie Athletics.
With the Aggies hosting Tennessee at Kyle Field the following day, we invite you to make this a part of your weekend in Aggieland.
Sponsorships, tables and individual tickets are available now, with limited availability remaining.
